Sunbeam Hot Springs

Sunbeam Hot Springs, Salmon River Scenic Byway, Custer County, Idaho, 83227, United States

About This Destination

Sunbeam Hot Springs is one of the best-known natural hot spring destinations near Stanley, located along the Salmon River and surrounded by rugged central Idaho scenery. The site also includes a historic stone bathhouse built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1937.

Visitors can soak in riverside rock pools where hot spring water mixes with the colder Salmon River, allowing the temperature to vary from pool to pool. The setting makes Sunbeam a memorable place to relax while enjoying the river and surrounding mountains.

Sunbeam Hot Springs is roughly 12.6 miles northwest of Stanley along State Highway 75, making it an easy scenic trip from town. Water temperatures and river conditions can change, so visitors should always test the water carefully before entering
